Steampunk Webwerks was founded early 2007 by a couple of enthusiastic software developers with a desire to leave the cubicle farm behind and pursue a dream of becoming self-employed while embracing the open source community. We are two freelance software developers working out of virtual offices in Mukilteo, WA, just north of Seattle. We don't have employees or big office expenses. The bottom line is that we offer our clients more value for their dollars. With Steampunk Webwerks you get the knowledge and experience of two freelance developers for the price of one.
We are geeks with a passion for open source web technologies and have worked together since 1991 for a handful of small to mid-sized start-ups and a couple of not-so-small corporations. Our experience goes far beyond the development of simple websites. Here is just a sample of some of the systems and technologies we have worked with:
enterprise financial accounting system
client/server enterprise distribution solution
b2b e-commerce (remember that buzz word) web-enabled enterprise supply chain management system
a variety of code generation and report writing tools
Swing based GUI applications
SWT based GUI applications
java/xml based client/server web services
Eclipse IDE based plugins
java based identity server and supporting ajax enabled web applications
We are driven to find that next new tool that will help us to do our jobs more quickly and efficiently.
